Chronicles of an Emerging Internet Marketer

Archive for January, 2007

It’s time in my adsense coaching course to begin promoting our sites. The coach recommends 2 article marketing sites, so I’ve started checking into them. One costs and one is free. The coach’s plan calls for extensive submission of articles for months to come. Seems like the primary purpose for the article marketing is to get backlinks to our site. I have a couple questions about the process that haven’t been answered yet, so I’m sort of waiting for those before I move ahead with the article submission.

In the meantime I decided to try to get my sites indexed by submitting the homepages to a bunch of social bookmarking sites. It’s an experiment, and I’m very curious to see if it works. The major social bookmarking sites tend to have a pretty good PR, but even if the ranking isn’t passed on at all, I’m expecting my sites to be spidered very quickly.

My tool of choice is Bookmarking Demon. I did some research and this one seemed to stand out as being the best among the tools that automate social bookmarking. I actually found it quite easy to use, although had to rely on the videos on the sales page for the tutorial on using the software. I got a really good price on Bookmarking Demon through my Keyword Avalanche membership. You wouldn’t believe the deals I can get there on all kinds of marketing software.

Once my sites are indexed, the next step will be to announce all the content articles on Article Underground blogs. These will provide links for sure, as many as 50 per site if I take the action. I’ve actually developed quite a list of resources for bringing links to my websites. I’ll start my article marketing as soon as I’m clear on the technique the coach is recommending.

Another issue today is my fitness site that I’ve had for awhile. It’s getting some traffic, but few adsense clicks. I’ve decided it’s a good idea to redesign the site. I originally used a template from a package Joel Comm sold, so tons of people have this template. It’s all part of the duplicate content issue. Not a good idea to use anything on your site that a lot of other people may be using. So, another experiment. Will redesigning my site bring more adsense clicks? We’ll see.

That’s it for now.

I’ve only made a couple posts on Senserely Yours but I’m seeing some results. Cool! Nothing earth shattering, but cool anyway.

(I mentioned Senserely Yours last week. It’s a community offering blogs and other features along with the opportunity to share in adsense income generated on your pages. It’s free! Check it out…)

I did a google search for Boy Million the other day and my first Senserely Yours blog posting showed up on a results page. Granted it wasn’t first page, but it was there. I’ve got Boy Million included in posts and pages on several sites that did not show up on the google results, either. So there may be some merit to sticking with Senserely Yours.

Speaking of google results pages, we all know how important SEO is if we want to place anywhere near where we can be found. That’s where Boy Million can help, with a cheap backlink that will be promoted for years. The interest in Boy Million is growing rapidly, the Alexa rankings are increasing, and that means the value of a link is increasing too.

You need lots of backlinks in the process of search engine optimization. Boy Million is a very valuable way to add to your arsenal. Check it out to get a picture of what I’m talking about!

P.S. Boy Million is promoted by Blogini, the “backlink behind the scenes power machine.” This is what makes Boy Million stand out in value over all the popular pixel and word cloud pages that are going up everywhere. Ignore those, and check out Boy Million.

Got some great tips from the Squidoo/Bum Marketing report I read last night. Seems as if all the little ebooks I pick up have at least one gem that makes it totally worth the cost. This one had more than one. This writer recommends building dozens of small Squidoo sites. I think I’ll finish the one I started and implement some of the tips I’ve picked up before I move on to others.

Got a good start on my next adsense website tonight. I’ll have a new lesson from my adsense coach waiting for me tomorrow. This one deals with promoting the sites. I think it’s mostly about building links and she covers a couple ways. I know a couple other ways, and I’ll pursue those too. Then cross my fingers and hope for traffic and ranking? I’d like to feel much more certain of success than that.

I’ve been playing with a headline analysis tool as I prepare the articles for my website. It’s at www.aminstitute.com/headline. Check it out sometime if you’d like some feedback on your headlines.

That’s it for now…

Today I learned of a system called 5 Bucks a Day. I guess it’s basically an ebook that outlines a system for getting focused in your work and spending less time on the busy work. I plan to read it tonight and will report back on it’s value. I learned of it through the Keyword Avalanche forum, where a couple of members recommended it very highly. I’d love to be better focused and accomplish more.

Also got my hands on a WSO about BUM Marketing incorporating Squidoo. That should be helpful. I like Squidoo. What a fun design and the word is that it’s really in it’s infancy and ready to take off. Time to get in now and get good at creating lenses.

My first Squidoo lens is still in progress. I got a little derailed when I learned I would not be able to include a module a I felt really excited about. Sorry if that doesn’t make sense, but it’s best if I leave it at that. I want to make the page fun and I’m working on figuring out a new approach.

Got another set of articles back from my writer. Very exciting. Time to build another adsense site. That’ll be easy with XSitePro.

Saw a movie tonight, “Notes on a Scandal” with Judi Dench. Wow, very intense! Superb acting.

That’s it for tonight. Have a good one.

Here’s a post I just made to my blog on Senserely Yours. Not sure how to describe what Senserely is about, except it provides a community for online folks focused thinly around adsense and promising a share in adsense revenue. It’s free and has lots of activity too!
“So 2007 is now well underway and I’ve decided to put some intentions in writing so I can gage my success throughout the year.

As I mentioned, I am involved in a program to learn to create adsense websites that will actually bring in visitors and clicks. That should lead to earning a check from Google. The keyword research has become a snap! An element of this training is to learn to put these sites on autopilot by outsourcing the site maintenance. Sounds good to me! So ultimately, I could create quite an empire of these sites, which is one of my intentions for 2007. To create a high 4 figure monthly adsense income following this process.

I recently joined the Warrior Master Mind, which is a program being offered by Allen Says on the Warrior Forum. His focus in on building minisites for gathering optins and growing subscriber lists, then following up with a long series of autoresponder messages promoting affiliate products and services. I like the model a lot, and feel pretty privileged to be able to learn it through him. So apparently these sites can also run pretty much on autopilot once established. That sounds pretty cool and is another intention for 2007. Create a high 4 figure monthly affiliate income following Allen’s process.

Beyond that, there are so many options! Bum Marketing, Social Networking, etc. One excellent option and opportunity is a class being offered by Ken Fox of Blogini fame. This in only for the members of Blogini, but he is offering to mentor us in creating an internet business.

I could go on and on, but I’ll leave some for future posts. I wish the best to everyone in their online ventures!

P.S. Check out my Squidoo Lens! It needs a little more work, and that’s my focus for tomorrow…”
