Chronicles of an Emerging Internet Marketer

Today I added a new RSS setup to my marketing website. The software is MSI Fetch, which is free and fairly easy to install and configure. I had worked with CaRP before and found this to be pretty cumbersome. MSI Fetch allows you to configure and update the feed via a webpage, while CaRP requires you to update a file via FTP and program all the html yourself. I definitely prefer the webpage access.

I also did some more work with tag and ping. This is sort of time consuming, but hopefully worth it in the long run. I added my fitness website to a bunch of social bookmarking sites. I need to go through my list and get them all tagged. I think there are some programs that automate this a bit. Maybe I’ll do some research.

MyMSN won’t let me add this blog to my page. Claims it doesn’t recognize the feed URL. Yahoo and Google have no trouble, why does MSN? And why does MSN not index my webpages when Google and Yahoo do? I’ve gotten the impression that MSN is the easiest to get indexed with. Not true for me.

That’s it for now. Busy week ahead.

I just stumbled across a really cool site that I loved and think most other people will really like it too.

Its at www.123giftforme.com

They are giving you hundreds of cool gifts, all for just $1.23, yeah just a buck.

When I first heard about it they had 253 gifts available. Now, in just a few days it is already over 271 gifts and it keeps growing.

The creators of the site want to prove that their Value Revolution Theory is true — that by giving an extraordinary amount of value to everybody involved, everybody wins.

It is like an early Christmas!

Check it out!

Reading Getting Started with Blogging and Google Adsense, by Joel Comm, lead to applying for a Google Adsense account today. That felt like a big hurdle for some reason! But I’m past it. I obviously read a lot by Joel and it has all been really helpful.

HTML has driven me crazy today trying to figure out how to get the right links back to Amazon from the books mentioned in my previous posts. I think I got it! I hope I got it! (I’ll scream if I didn’t!)

I’ve been working on a website and hope to finish that up tomorrow complete with adsense code. The next step is signing up with a hosting company. I’m pretty sure it will be Blue Host.

Wish me success!

Each day is so full of opportunities. I’m having a great time, and at the same time, getting much better at maintaining my focus on my priorities.

Last Friday I must have received about 11 emails promoting Mark Joyner’s new book, The Great Formula. I did buy it. I love the list of bonuses. I’ve not read anything by him before, but I look forward to the book and expect to learn a ton.

Now today, it was Joel Comm’s new book, The Adsense Code, that was being promoted. I bought that too, but am clearly building a resource library. This one seems especially appropriate since I have chosen to focus on building adsense sites first.

I’m also testing the affiliate marketing waters. HTML and getting links on this blog are my current challenge. We’ll soon see if I have been successful yet.

More later…..
