Gateway Computers, Blogini, and More

By Deb | Sep 8, 2006

It was two weeks ago today that my new Gateway desktop computer was delivered, but I’m sitting here using my old laptop.  Turns out my new Gateway didn’t work.  The symptom was the keyboard. Nothing typed on the screen.  After hours of troubleshooting with tech support on the phone, a new mother board was ordered.

Last Friday, a tech person came here to install the new motherboard. This did not work either. The first symptom was the keyboard. Nothing typed on the screen. Then I noticed the IEEE port was missing. Then the display was no longer getting a signal from the tower. Then the tower would no longer turn off when the button was pushed. Felt like a nightmare, Outer Limits, kind of thing. This all occurred as I spent more hours on the phone with tech support.

In order to avoid a 15% restocking fee for a computer that did not work, I agreed to ship it all back and try another Gateway desktop computer.  No idea when to expect it. Sure hope this was a fluke experience and the new one works like a charm.

In looking for some structure and support as I build my online business, I’ve joined a program called Blogini. With this program I create and maintain blogs while the Blogini folks build a network of links to promote my sites and up to 4 links on each of my sites. They offer two levels, Turbo and Gold. I chose Turbo which means they also create a website for me each month, in a niche I select, and submit an article to the directories to promote it.  In addition, we get tons of software and information downloads, a forum, teleconferences, a webhosting account, and a number of memberships in other programs.

It’s pretty new, so we’re in the beginning stages. So far it’s been a fabulous experience. I’m learning a ton. The tone of the program is very positive and uplifting – nothing “salesy” about it at all. Ken Fox, the creator, overdelivers on service and products. I realize to be successful within Blogini will mean a long term commitment as traffic and ranking build over time. So right now I’m maintaining these blogs and building websites in comparable niches and feeling really excited.

Thanks for visiting. I’ll keep you updated on how it develops.
